the Eye Knowledge Network

What

The Eye Knowledge Network aims at bringing together in a network professional who work in the eye-care world becoming, in the WEB 2.0 style, a location of knowledge sharing and proposing innovative and multimedia methods for its dissemination.

Why

Wikipedia is now the most widely used electronic encyclopedia in the world being easy to use, accurate and complete in its content and always updated thanks to the fact that everyone can contribute in editing items. Wikipedia is the reference for all WEB 2.0 applications.

Similarly, the Eye Knowledge Network intends to use the WEB 2.0 techniques and the new media to inform, educate and, in general communicate with eye care providers, patients and with all institutional and industrial subjects providing simple, effective and professional systems aimed at the research and sharing of specific information.

How

Eye Knowledge Network features in its staff experts of new WEB technologies and experts of distribution of multimedia content and it intends to make available to users a simple system for sharing multimedia content of medical interest, such as pictures and videos that are increasingly associated with clinical examinations.

The company also collaborates with the University for the definition of algorithms and structures to facilitate the organization of knowledge and facilitate the access to it, being therefore among the organizations involved in the creation of so-called Web 3.0, or WEB semantics.
