CenterVue develops medical devices designed to aid in the early detection of several specific ocular diseases. The company goal is to support preventive medicine programs through large-scale screening programs.

Its highly automated and non invasive technology guarantees patient's comfort and makes CenterVue medical device easy to use and intuitive for the operator.
These products represent an innovation in the telemedicine field because they not only collect patient information but also send them to EKN platform - the Eye Knowledge Network, so that they are available to the doctors everywhere.
EKN is a virtual meeting place, specifically conceived for eye care professionals to find, share and discuss clinically relevant ophthalmic information in the form of data, images and videos.
PRODUCTS
CenterVue products are characterised by easy usage, automation, modern design, accurate analysis and web-connection: MAIA, Macular Integrity Assessment, realizes functional exam of the retina and detects early and intermediate age related or disease macular degeneration; DRS, Digital Retinography System, realizes a morphologic exam of patient retina area. Both the instruments are distributed worldwide and FDA certified.
Giuliano Barbaro - CEO
Giuliano Barbaro graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Padova in 1996 and received his Master degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Patras, in Greece.
After he left the academic world, he became Software Engineer at Fortune Technologies Srl, one of the most important manufacturer and seller of imaging systems for diagnostic ophthalmology.
The company was soon acquired by the Japanese multinational Nidek Corporation, changing its name into Nidek Technologies Srl.
In 2002 Giuliano Barbaro was appointed R&D Manager, leading a team of about 20 engineers and researchers and, in 2006, he became General Manager.
In 2008 he left Nidek Technologies to join the founding team of CenterVue and bacame its CEO.
